Pre-Purchase Marine Survey
Purchasing a boat? Hire me for a comprehensive evaluation of the boat on-shore and at sea. This survey gives you all of the information you need to make an informed decision, negotiate costs and secure financing. See below for a description of what all goes into a pre-purchase inspection.
Condition and Value Survey
Not as comprehensive as the pre-purchase survey, this insurance inspection lets you and your underwriter establish the fair market value of the vessel and highlights any safety or maintenance concerns. Typically required every four to six years or so, this boat inspection confirms if your vessel is fit for its intended use.

Boat Insurance Appraisal Survey
Is your insurance company requiring a marine survey to continue coverage? I am a SAMS certified surveyor (SA) and will look at safety issues, hull integrity, and general condition. Everything you need to satisfy your insurance company.
Boat Damage Claim Survey
If the vessel has been damaged in an accident or grounding, this inspection aids in the claims process, ensuring fair and accurate estimates for repair. This inspection can also be used to determine if your vessel has been repaired properly.

What Does A Marine Survey Include?
A pre-purchase inspection is the most comprehensive boat inspection, which may include, but not limited to:
On-Shore Inspection
Sea Trial
Hull and deck structures
Wiring
Electronics
Fuel Systems
Machinery and associated systems
Prior damage to the hull
Osmotic blisters
Running and steering gear
Percussion sounding*
Engine operation

*Percussion testing is a non-invasive method for finding voids, soft spots or delamination in the hull and deck without having to cut into the laminate or drill holes for a sample. Moisture meters are also used to determine if water has entered the laminate.

How Much Does A Marine Survey Cost?
A Marine Survey cost is determined by the type of survey and length of the vessel. Please contact me about your needs for an estimate or for more information.
